AN INTIMATE WEDDING, DOCUMENTED

Some weddings feel like they were designed to be documented. This Upper West Side wedding was one of them. A beautiful brownstone, a couple who just radiated joy, and New York City as the backdrop—it had everything. Dani and Matan showed up to their day relaxed, happy, and completely unbothered by everything a wedding day can throw at you. They weren't chasing perfection. They were just there to enjoy it. And that made my job feel less like work and more like hanging out with friends who happened to be getting married.

Getting Ready

The morning started inside a brownstone on the Upper West Side—one of those spaces that just feels right for a New York City wedding. The quiet before the celebration. The small moments of anticipation. I moved through the space documenting it all as Dani and Matan got ready, each in their own world, both headed toward the same moment.

Just the Two of Them

For the couple shoot, we headed to Columbia University—a place that's woven into their story. Walking around campus with them, I kept things loose. They told me early on they weren't sure what to do in front of a camera, so I told them not to worry about it. Walk around. Talk to each other. I'll follow your lead. And that's exactly what happened. The best frames came when they forgot I was there.

Family & the Chuppah

Back at the brownstone, we gathered with family in the brick backyard before the ceremony. Their dog made an appearance too, which honestly was a highlight. Then came the chuppah—intimate, meaningful, surrounded by the people closest to them. One of those moments where you just stay out of the way and let it happen.

The Party

And then everyone let loose—and if you've ever been to a wedding, you know exactly what I mean. Around eighty guests, some who had traveled from overseas, all in one place celebrating these two and showing their best moves, with plenty of alcohol to help. The atmosphere was infectious—the kind of party where you stop feeling like the photographer and start feeling like a guest.

Dani and Matan, thank you for letting me be part of your day. It was one for the books.
